After 20 years of working in restaurants, wine stores and wine importers, Dan Banks launched Viticole in 2020.

Creating wine packs for friends and family had long been a passion, and when the opportunity came to make it a full time business, Viticole was born.

As well as an innate understanding of how to assess wine quality, Dan also has a keen sense of the zeitgeist; what trends are happening that need to be recognised (as well as those best ignored) and almost as importantly, a broad network of importers, distributors and winemakers has been key to giving him a unique ‘Insider’s Perspective’ and access to wines that may not always make it onto store shelves.

Dan’s focus is on smaller producers, who work ethically within ‘terroirs’ that suit the varieties they are growing, and pursue the ideal of representing that terroir and variety in the bottle.

Raised in Switzerland, very near the French wine regions of Burgundy, Jura and Savoie, Dan’s particular love of French wines is evident in his selections.
